Robin and 92 others: I’m sure this has been asked before. So, apologies if I’m asking people to repeat themselves, but we are recommending a transfer of an SJP pension.

LifeTalk member and 51 others: I recently resigned from my role as an employed IFA at a small DA firm, and have set up as an AR at a network. I was subject to some 6m restrictive covenants which I’ve abided by.

However, now that 5 of said 6 months have lapsed, it has come to my attention that my former director is rubbishing my name to the clients I had relationships with, and is lying about the reasons for my departure, and also making up other nonsense about other matters which I didn’t do, which is causing alarm amongst said clients.

LifeTalk member and 36 others: My network is insisting that we start charging a minimum 2,500 fee for pension benefit access. We have never charged a client for this as consider this to be covered within their usual fees. We definitely don't think it warrants a fee that large.

LifeTalk member and 34 others: A few adviser colleagues and I, frustrated with our current network due to costs (12% plus of annual earnings), are considering collaborating and exploring Direct Authorisation as a group. Each of us manages around £30–50 million AUM. We want to keep our own client books but create something independent.

Has anyone here taken a similar route, and what have been your experiences with costs and effectiveness? We feel like overall we likely have 150-180k between us in fees to use against this setup and be no worse off!
