John and 10 others: Pension death benefits to minor - ReAssure making it difficult. I have been contacted by a referral from a solicitor. Child A (age 12) is nominated beneficiary of 33% of his late Father's pension with ReAssure c.£36K. David and 54 others: Client is buying her husband's half-share of a property they own jointly. Solicitor is saying there's no Stamp Duty as she is already a part-owner. I think he's wrong, and she has to pay stamp duty on the share she is now buying. Does anyone know definitively what the situation is? Darrell and 13 others: I have been asked to prepare and deliver a one hour seminar on the financial aspects retirement planning for a group of employees and the employer has said they will pay me for it. There is not likely to be a lot of business from it ongoing as the employees are mostly in a NEST pension scheme, any ideas or experience on how to charge for this as it is new territory for me. Paddy and 23 others: Client has an estate of c£4,000,000, single no dependants. Most of it liquid and at some point they'd like to gift, but only 55 and don't wish to yet.
Offered an early retirement and severance pension of £43kpa plus £290,000 tax free cash. They have fixed protection 2016 and so they also will receive URBS of 25kpa plus a further £167k in cash. My understanding is that the URBS will be taxed, alongside salary of pro rated c90k for the year.
