LifeTalk by the numbers. January to June 2026
People sometimes ask whether online communities are still relevant. These first six months suggest the answer is a resounding yes.
Over the first half of 2026, LifeTalk members generated:
• 1,565 posts
• 14,394 comments (around 80 per day)
• 19,324 reactions (more than 107 every day)
• 3,888 active members (over 80% of total members)
That's more than 35,000 meaningful interactions between financial advisers in just six months.
What I find most encouraging isn't simply the volume. It's that advisers continue to turn up, ask questions, share ideas, help one another and have honest conversations about the realities of running a financial planning business.
Communities aren't built on member numbers. They're built on participation.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed, answered a question, shared an experience or simply encouraged a fellow adviser. That's what makes LifeTalk what it is.
Here's to an even bigger second half of the year.
Talking of participation… look how you can help clients, yourself and the wider profession
We think this is a first for the industry and wider profession, and we would love you to be a part of it.
We are looking for thirty financial advisers and planners to help us to create a collaborative educational consumer-facing book which explains what financial planning is and what the benefits are.
All you need to do is write just one chapter - nothing more! Naturally, you can include a profile of your services, and your name will be on the front cover - and you will be able to say you're a co-author of a (hopefully!) best-selling personal finance book.
By contributing just one chapter which explains what you feel consumers need to know about financial planning, you'll be doing yourself a favour, many consumers a favour and also the profession a favour.
Everyone taking part has contributed £100 which goes towards professional editing, book set up, marketing and promotion. All royalties from the book are going to charity.
