I’m sensing real frustration amongst many IFAs about some sources of leads. Pricing, quality and reliability keep coming up...

But maybe we’re approaching this the wrong way.

In many ways, the internet has made us lazy about how we attract leads. We tend to post a website, blog, advert or social media post and then sit back waiting for something to happen.

Tech’s great, but recent stats show that whilst advisers made much greater use of digital tactics during the pandemic, as we progress through 2024 they are now producing lower lead quantities resulting in lower overall satisfaction amongst advisers.

What’s more, advisers are increasingly expressing dissatisfaction with social media and general purpose blogging due to difficulties in standing out in a crowded online environment.

Let's put this in context. I was talking today with an adviser who is based in Bristol and he said before Covid he used to really enjoy meeting clients who were based in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
