Your LifeTalk Insider #35

Welcome back…

From the LifeTalk forum this week:

Brad and 31 others: Has anyone recommended a pension switch away from the People's Pension recently? I'm just looking a one for a client and struggling to find a reason for setting up a new pension for them. Click…

LifeTalk member and 33 others: I have been in financial services of over seven years, I have been trying for over a year to become a Financial Advisor, but nobody is willing to help me reach my goal, I have sat all my exams on my own with no help from anyone.

I am proud of what I have achieved but trying to become an advisor all I seam to get with firms and recruiters is you do not have CAS therefore we can’t help. The firms that have confirmed they can help have told me that because of a respect in the workplace incident that happened 5 year ago and a warning on a police incident that happened 12 years ago they will not be looking to help me.

I am losing all hope and don’t know which way to turn. This has been my dream for nearly 9 years and just need someone to help me become the best advisor I can be. Click…

LifeTalk member and 33 others: What AI solutions have been developed to date to replace/enhance the Paraplanning function? Click…

Paul and 24 others: There have been lots of posts around Starling Bank over the past few years and mixed information about whether they will deal with firms regulated by the FCA.

Having been with them since 2020 they have decided to give notice to close our business account citing that we are a regulated entity and this is documented in their T&Cs. We have been given a 60 day notice and beyond a few poorly worded emails there is virtually no communication or explanation. Click…

Donovan and 17 others: Can anyone recommend a reputable , secure email to fax provider please. Some providers are still refusing to receive LOAs via email and we don't have a fax. Click…

Raj and 39 others: Do the occasional client home visit. Any ideas how to deal with an over excited dog which insists on clawing at my trousers for some attention. ‘He’s really friendly, he’ll calm down in a bit’. Click…

LifeTalk member and 28 others: I like to think of myself as fair and flexible in terms of timekeeping from my staff, and I’m not going to quibble if someone is a few minutes late to work on occasion, because traffic, home issues, etc.

However, there is a member of staff who consistently (pretty much daily) isn’t working their hours, and sometimes ‘informs’ me late in the day that they are wfh the next day.

I feel I need to have a conversation with the person in question, but I have this habit of saying things that come out not as intended.

I hate confrontation, I am quite inexperienced and not very well equipped (imo) for a management role and am somewhat apprehensive about how to deal with this.

How would others deal with this situation? Click…

Christopher and 13 others: I've recently suggested some joint whole of life cover to clients, one of who was a financial sales adviser for Sun Life, back in the day. He's asking about backdating the start date to qualify for lower premiums.

I've got no idea what he's on about. How can this even be a thing? Click…

Aron and 10 others: I have a question from a client which is that if Labour come in to power he believes they will change the Flexi-Access Drawdown rules for those who have not yet taken an income from it. Does anyone know where he's read that? Click…

LifeTalk member and 14 others: I have a client who has recently registered for Irish citizenship alongside UK. He is an additional rate tax payer and wants to know ways he may be able to mitigate tax using his newfound duel citizenship, if any. Anyone able to point me in the direction of someone who specialises in this area? Click…

Later Life and Equity Release advisers…

I'm putting together a full day, high content lead generation training workshop for Later Life and Equity Release financial advisers at a Midlands location.

There will be no theoretical fluff - just proven strategies based on over forty years of studying how top performing financial advisers attract more of their ideal clients.

It's not for everyone, so if you're not ready to devote seven hours to mastering lead generation as a later life adviser, it's probably not for you.

But if you want to make 2024 'your year' in the equity release space and willing to invest the time and roll your sleeves up, then you should join us.

You'll leave at the end of the day knowing exactly what to do next and how to implement it.

Details soon, but if you're interested in learning more then send a DM or say "Yes" in the comments on this thread...
